Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends.

Black cloth with paper labels on the spine and front cover. Unknown printing is 1933 instead of 1931 original printing. Nice gap filler with its nice paper labels. Doubleday Doran black cloth to match the other two in this trilogy. I am glad these are showing up on the market, one of the hardest to find at one time.

No jacket, book has a tiny bit of tanning inside. Only has the date 1931 inside but does not state first edition, i would guess it was a subsequent printing. Black boards with yellow/gold stamp and woodcut image on the front.
