Quarter burgundy morocco spine with gilt lettering and blue cloth, slipcase with paper label. xviii, 629pp. Sepia-tone illustrations. Fine/very good. Superb, bright and tight copy of the tenth title in the LEC's 24th series -- a classic history first published in 1837, here with rear colophon noting limitation of 1500 numbered copies (this #241) signed boldly by illustrator Lamotte. Laid in is the LEC prospectus and the "Monthly Letter." NEWMAN 265.
