New York: Scribner's, 1946. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. (New York: Charles Scribner's Sons 1946). First US Edition. SIGNED, INSCRIBED & DATED BY THE AUTHOR. Publisher's beige blind-stamped boards with black lettering to the spine. Black end-papers. Un-paginated. 52 black and white photographs of Nebraska. A near fine copy (mild foxing to the first and last pages of text) in like price-clipped D/W. Inscribed by the Author: "For Jim Higson/ Wright Morris/ 2-20-70". Wright Marion Morris was an American novelist, a major photographer (famous for his innovative, classic photo-text style), and essayist. He is best known for his portrayals of the people and artifacts of the Great Plains in words and pictures, as well as for experimenting with narrative forms. Quite uncommon, inscribed, with these attributes. Photographs/scans available upon request.
