One of a lovely series of Giant Golden Books from the 1960s containing a selection of fairy tales & legends from around the world, lavishly illustrated on every page with images found nowhere else. This one offers 6 tales from Central Europe, in 64 pages. Nearly a folio (14.5" x 10.25"), this oversized hardcover had brilliantly decorated paper over boards. Condition is VG-: very clean & bright, sewn binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with just a whisper of tanning to edges. No DJ as issued. Flaws: missing 1" segment to head of spine, lesser chipping & rubbing to other end & all corners. Light soil & scratches to both covers.d of spina few dings to spine, all corners & both ends of spine are bumped, with some fraying & tearing at heel of spine. Worst are the upper-outer corners, which are worn down to the underlying boards.
