Alfred A. Knopf, 1948. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Good. First American edition, fourth printing so stated on copyright page and $3.00 price on jacket. All pages are clean and unmarked aside from previous owner's blindstamp on front endpaper and a bit of soiling/age toning to endpapers. Jacket protected in a new mylar wrap and is not price clipped. The front inner flap is completely detached, but still presents well in mylar. Some soiling to both jacket and boards. Chipping and loss around edges as pictured. Spine ends and board corners starting to fray. Binding and hinges secure. Moderate musty odor to book.
Synopsis
Albert Camus' parable, The Plague , tells the tale of a town beset by a horrible disease carried in from rats in the sewer, and the lessons the main characters learn as they face humanity in the destruction of the plague.
