Philadelphia: National Publishing Company. First Edition . Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. Copyright is 1973. 823 pages, plus ads. Inked name of George A. Root on front paste down, and S. Allan Dougherty on front free end leaf. Cloth covers are a little rubbed and show some wear at spine ends and corners. Gilt lettering and decoration on spine is a little rubbed and faded, though remains clear. Top hinge is cracked, though volume remains tight. Penciled notations on end leaves. Contents remain clean and intact.

Spine rebacked in tape, and first few leaves also repaired. Leather quite scuffed, rubbed away at corners and top edge. Card pocket on front free endpaper. Some foxing throughout. Interior is very good. This is an uncommon history of the Western American territories by Utahan author Beadle. A fascinating, profusely illustrated book with a lovely leather binding, which is sadly marred by the rebacking. (Howes B269).
