Illustrated by Peter Sis, this 1987 John Newbery Award Winner is a classic children's fairy tale. This is the story of Prince Brat and an orphan named Jemmy, who is chosen to serve as the "whipping boy" for the prince. Each time the prince gets into trouble, Jemmy must take the punishment. Together they run away and begin an adventure that surely changes their lives. Outstanding story, best selection for any child's library. Ages 8-11.
