On March 16th, 1946, the torso of a man was found in a lonely area of Hamilton's escarpment mountain in Southern Ontario. Three days later the torso was identified as the remains of John Dick, a 39 year old street car conductor employed by the Hamilton Street Railway Company. In the years that followed, 4 people were arrested and charged with the murder - his widow, her lover, and her parents. The ensuing see-saw of justice resulted in five trials with varying outcomes. .
