For the fourth time in 17 years, librarians, authors, educators and publishers from around the world assembled to exchange information about children's books and culture within the 38 countries of the Pacific Rim. The papers presented emphasize children's entitlements, their literature, and the forms it is currently taking. Essays on such topics as children's needs and wishes; mass media, animation, and "manga" (comic books); and new methods of introducing literature to children explicate the theme.
