DBP Formation Control by Modified Activated Carbons Paperback - 2007

by by Tanju Karanfil (Author),

From the publisher

The main objectives of this study were: (1) to conduct a systematic investigation for developing a fundamental understanding of how activated carbons should be tailored for enhanced removal of DOM from natural waters; and (2) to investigate the effectiveness of some carbon tailoring approach(es) for DBP formation control at typical drinking water treatment conditions. Using a three-phase approach numerous results are presented which used both raw and treated water DOM. Complying with the stringent DBP regulations require water utilities consider various approaches. The optimum solution will probably be system-specific. Specific approaches are disused for a utility who considers using GAC adsorption for DBP precursor control.
