'Salem's Lot Unknown - 1999

by Stephen King

From the publisher

In his illuminating introduction, Stephen King shares the inspiration for this most enduring of vampire classics.Published a year after Carrie, 'Salem's Lot firmly cemented King's name in the pantheon of great storytellers. His rich and finely crafted tale of a mundane New England town under siege from the forces of darkness is both homage to Brain Stoker and a thoughtful allegory for post-Vietnam society. Considered one of the most terrifying vampire novels ever written, it cunningly probes the shadows of the human heart -- and the insular evils of small-town America.
