Spirk (1914-2009) was a student at McDonald Elementary School, John Marshall School, and Roosevelt High School, all in Seattle Washington, during this period. He later served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was employed by Boeing as an aeronautical engineer. The volumes included here are: Europe, about an imaginary visit to 27 European countries; Paper, a history of paper; My Book, possibly the earliest creation of Spirk's, with six subjects including Christopher Columbus, the Easter bunny, and birds; My Trip to South America, about a trip (possibly imaginary?) to that continent; South America, which includes a hand-drawn map in color; The United States, a series of reports on 18 states; Geography, a general overview of the subject with illustrations showing the daily sunrises and sunsets from October 1923 - January 1924; Records, about time and time-keeping; Poems, a book of child's verses; The Tariff; English; The World War; Richard I; and The Story of Rubber, a history of the development by white people of rubber.
