Before this edition there were published only extracts in periodicals.Translation was prepared by a poet, the Russian Joyce's Ulysses translator Valentin Stenich (1897-1938). He was arrested in November 1937 and executed.All editions of Dos Passos's books were banned in Rusiia until 1958.Libman, 2288.OCLC locates four copies of this edition in the US: in the University of North Carolina Library, the University of Virginia Library, the Yale University Library and the Harvard Library.
