About This Item
New York: Clason Military Academy, 1927 SCARCE. Yearbook for The Clason Military Academy, later known as the La Salle Military Academy. Founded in 1883 by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in Westchester, New York. Shortly after the school was relocated to Clason Point in the Bronx and was renamed Clason Point Military Academy. In 1926 the school purchased the estate of Frederick Gilbert Bourne on Long Island. The Christian Brothers managed the Academic Programs, whilst the United States Army ran the Military Academy. The school had a large mafia family patronage including the sons of the Gambino Family and the Lucchese Family. Unpaginted, printed on fine glossy paper, bound in black embossed cloth, with binding and hinges tight. Black and white photographs, as well as color tipped-in plates throughout, all edges gilt. NO LABELS, INSCRIPTIONS, NOR MARKINGS.
