About This Item

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1931 Book. Illus. by Paramount Photoplay. Good. Hardcover. Second Printing Before Publication. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Red cloth lettered in black on boards. It's a big game between University and State College. The score is tied at the start of the third quarter. When Demuth, the ball carrier for State, collapses as he is hauled down in the end zone, bedlam ensues. Demuth doesn't get up. So ends the first chapter, which the reader must fathom by the broadcaster's arcane commentary. The book itself has seen some rough treatment, too, for there are 21 date stamps from a local lending library. The cover looks as though it had been at the bottom of a pileup, for it has a small ding at thebottom edge and is permanently cocked. The last leaf is victim of a cracked joint, but is still attached. The Paramount photos are not affected. 265 pp..
