Profusely decorated throughout with full-page and textual woodcut illustrations of scenes and sites relating to the writings of Dickens. 8vo, in publisher's original olive-green cloth with gilt lettering and pictorial decorations tooling to the spine, the upper cover with large pictorial decorations and borders in black, gray and gilt, the lower cover with border decorations in black, patterned end-leaves, top edge gilt. ix, [1], 307, [1], 32 ads. pp. A fine copy, very handsomely preserved with very little evidence of age or use but at the extremities. FIRST EDITION AND A CHARMING BOOK, THE WORLD OF CHARLES DICKENS IS PRESENTED TO US IN WORDS AND PICTURES. Rimmer takes us book by book through the locations of ten of Dickens' best loved novels and finally on a tour of places where Dickens lived or worked.
