Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Henry Holt. This is the revised 1997 edition, with an additional five essays added in by the author that were not included in the previous 1996 edition. David Slyvester is the author on major works on Moore, Magritte, and Giiacometti. In this book, Sylvester surveys the leading modern artists of the 20th century, offering a brilliant and often witty retrospective on several art movements and the leading proponents of each. This copy shows very little wear, the dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. The dust jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. There is a faint impression of a former price on the first blank flyleaf, written in pencil and erased. The text is clean with no writing. This volume is often used as a textbook, so many copies will have writing or highlighting on the text, but this copy does not. Sturdy blue colored boards. As is the case with all of our listings, the attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory, not a stock photo.
