Previous owner's bookplate on the front paste down. Even though this book was a planned project of the 1976 Bicentenial project it was not published until after Coulter's death. From Albert Saye's preface, "This biography of Abraham Baldwin was written by Dr. E. Merton Coulter before his death in 1981. By his will he left all of his books and papers (including the manuscript for this biography) to the library of the University of Georgia. As a close friend on the faculty, I obtained permission to edit the manuscript and arrange for its publication.
