London; John Murray, 1852., 1852. Hardcover. Octavo. xxiii, [1], 359 pp, [1], 32 (advertisements). Illustrations in text. Book Condition: Good. Recased using original boards by Remnant and Edmonds with original spine and calf title label laid-on. Marbled cloth with blind-ruled panels to boards; gilt flag motif to upper board. Pink endpapers with original retailer's ticket to front pastedown (Mitchell of Old Bond Street). Original spine sunned with several splits and 2-inch loss at head; loss to title label to two edges. Boards edge rubbed and upper corners bumped; inner hinges split. Bookplates and handwritten name & address of former owner to front pastedown & ffep (Edward Ellice and R H Walton). Some offsetting; a little minor corner-creasing to leaves and foxing & toning, mainly to textblock edge. Scarce.
