James Grey Jackson was an early 19th-century British merchant who spent more than a decade living in North Africa and Morocco. It was from his time in this area that he wrote 'Account of the Empire of Morocco' – an historical treatise covering the inhabitants of Morocco, Timbuktu, and the Nile River area. Jackson compares the languages spoken by African nations as well as elements of geography throughout Northern Africa.

This rare, third edition of Jackson's 'Morocco' includes twelve impressive engravings including:
