Toronto: The Macmillan Company. Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket. 1949. First Edition. Hardcover. 121 p. 22 cm. Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards. A little rub wear to the bottom edges. Top edge of text block slightly dusty and all edges have light toning. Booksellers label on front endpaper. Pencil notation on recto of the front free endpaper. Inside pages are clean and unmarked. Dustjacket has wear to the edges and spine ends, with some small chips and tiny tears. The spine is darkened. A few tiny soil spots. Not price clipped. ($2.75) Eight stories of children from across Canada, written and illustrated by Clare Bice. One full page colour illustration per story, with additional black and white in-text illustrations. This book is signed and dated (1949) by Bice on the back of the front free endpaper. There is an additional pencil note on the same page about a friendship Bice had with Eric Moorhouse, who was once Chair of the London Public Library Board which shared a building with the London Art Gallery which Bice was curator. .
