1968. Bogota, Banco de La Republica, 1968. 34,5 cm x 24,5 cm. 348 pages. 152 full colour hand-tipped plates, many of them folding. Original Hardcover. Bound in brown woven cloth with stamped burgundy lettering to front board & to spine. Very good condition. Frontcover shows a minor stain and imprint. Slight tear to front hinges but otherwise sound binding. Edward Walhouse Mark was British vice-consul in Colombia (New Granada as it was then named), stationed in Bogota and other places from 1843 to 1856. During his many journeys through the country, he painted these water colors of customs, costumes, scenery and the flora and fauna.
