Medina (Puebla, # 799) erroneously identified this work as a Puebla imprint.

FIRST EDITION of this important Pastoral Letter signed in Puebla de los Angeles on October 28, 1767, coinciding with the expulsion of the Jesuits from America; in it he concentrates his attacks on the supposed moral laxity of the Society and on the probabilistic perspective of the Jesuits in Moral Theology. Francisco Fabián y Fuero (1719-1801), Bishop of Puebla de los Angeles since 1765, had already been involved in the debate of the Jesuits in America calling for the dissolution of the Society of Jesus during the IV Mexican Council where he gave evidence of its vast and solid instruction.
