Early printing of this sequel to Michigan Upper Peninsula classic Dandelion Cottage, in which the girls unexpectedly acquire a part-Native infant, dated 1914 - first published six years earlier. Unlike many saccherine children's book of the period, the girls, aged 11-14, are quirky & a bit irresponsible, but not badly-behaved. Hardcover, as pictured; decorated cover initialed B S - Bertha Stuart. General wear, rubbing, light staining, front free endsheet torn out, light foxing & some internal stains, minor gutter gaps, ink bookseller's code inside rear cover. Text clean; vi, [4], 300 pages + 8 pages ads; four line drawings, as called for.. Later Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Florence Scovel Shinn. Duodecimo.
