Green cloth with brown titles to spine and brown printed vignette of bittern to front cover, and dustjacket lettered in brown on buff paper and also with image of bittern in flight. 67pp. With 64 b&w illustrations in text from pen and ink and line wash drawings by Ennion, plus sketch maps to endpapers. Foreword by Brian Vesey-Fitzgerald. The relatively uncommon first edition of Ennion's first book, about an area of unspoiled fen in Cambridgeshire where he grew up. Fine book in a Very Good jacket, which has tanning as usual to margins and spine, small loss to upper spine including A of title, and a couple of spot marks.
