A collection of hundreds of black & white illustrations from the pages of Harper's Weekly showing people and scenes from around America from 1857 to 1900. The illustrations are accompanied by the text of John A. Kouwenhoven. --- In pictorial paper-covered boards with facsimiles of news clippings to endpapers. Unpaginated (about 250 pp.). The cover images are repeated on the dust jacket. --- With chafing to edges of covers, leaves are lightly tanned but volume is tightly-bound and unmarked. Jacket with quite a few chips and tears; wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.
