About This Item
New York: Cassell and Company, 1912. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Fine/Good. 8vo.,338pp. Beautiful First US Edition published the same year as the British edition. Bound in publisher's dark green cloth with titles in white on spine and front board. Illustration stamped in yellow, black and blue on the front board. Tissue-guard full color frontis illustration by Cyrus Cuneo. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a hint of wear at the spine ends but quite minor. Remarkably well-preserved. Solid unclipped dust-jacket, (net $1.25 on spine panel), has a large chip from the heel and a smaller one at the crown. Some edge-wear and rubbing with a couple of tiny closed tears. Not perfect but still bright and complete and quite scarce in any condition. A very pretty collectable copy of an uncommon title and almost impossible to find with its dust-jacket. (Hubin p. 129).
