Spine gilt rubbed, some edgewear. An early post-apocalyptic novel, the book describes the ecological repercussions of an unspecified catastrophe. Jefferies was one of the great nature writers of his day, and his The Story of My Heart (1883) is a classic of spiritual examination and introspection.
