About This Item
Tuscaloosa, Alabama: University of Alabama Press, 1992. Soft cover. Near Fine. This book, originally published in 1963, is a compilation of over 100 excerpts from printed and manuscript diaries, journals, letters, official reports, and accounts in newspapers and periodicals that were written during the Civil War. These personal accounts generate a deeper understanding of the Civil War period by allowing those who lived through the war to present in their own words the story of this great struggle. 468 pages, including an index. Book is clean and binding is tight. There are two small horizontial creases at the bottom of the spine that go less than half way across the spine, it appears to be a printing imperfection. There are no vertical creases on the spine. A quite nice copy of an increasingly scarce work, available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.
