Each page is identified with the term "Modèles Atelier Bachwitz" and features several delicately hand-colored full-length images of women in stylish gowns or portrayed from the waist up, thus promoting the "wasp waist" look of the era as well as calling attention to the luxuriant plumage of the chapeau. Each illustration is numbered, with descriptive text printed on verso of front and rear covers. The image of a coin or medal depicted on the magazine's front cover reads "Wein 1898," supporting the circa 1900s date of publication. Overall light creasing (likely from being rolled at one time), slight paper loss to free edge of front cover and first page of plates, very short edge tears to a couple of pages, decorative color sticker of the firm "Atelier Backwitz Trade Mark. Toujours En Avant" affixed to upper left corner of the front cover. Contents are clean and bright, good or better condition. This is an uncommon item and an early publication in the history of this firm. It would be a valuable resource to a library specializing in the history of women's fashion. .
