Chandrasekhar was a prominent astrophysicist and winner of the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physics. In 1930, Chandrasekhar was a graduate student at Cambridge University and research assistant to professor, physicist and astronomer, R. H. Fowler. This set was likely obtained during Chandrasekhar's 1931 stay at Max Born's institute in Göttingen, Germany. Chandrasekhar graduated from Cambridge with a PhD in 1933. Complete, two-volume set. .
