Description:
Printed Privately. Confidential.,1909. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 56pp. One of only 250 copies privately printed by R. & R. Clark of Edinburgh. Inscribed by Shaw on the half title page to Frances Noyes Hart; "The Committee refused to accept this statement; and there was a very pretty row about it which is fully described in the preface to the Shewing up of Blanco Posnet. G. Bernard Shaw. London. 3rd Oct. 1931. To Frances Noyes Hart". A fine copy in original blue stiff card wrappers printed in black to upper cover. Housed in a blue vellum chemise which is lettered in gilt, reproducing the exact lettering, even using the same typeface, as the printed front cover. This is then housed in a quarter green morocco slip case with raised bands and gilt rules and lettering to the spine. The slip case is rubbed and worn but has done its job of keeping the booklet and chemise in fine condition. Frances Noyes Hart was an American short story writer. She became famous after winning the Pulizer prize for her 1927 Crime…

Very Good/Very Good. 1982 Holt, Rinehart Winston TRUE FIRST EDITION, FIRST Printing **SIGNED** directly on the front page. Still an very rare true first!! **Brenbooks specializes in first edition mysteries, many signed! **BONUS** Receive the 1950 Rinehart First Edition of her father's 4th novel "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt" in Vg/Vg condition. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1922. Signed and Numbered First. Hardcover. Very Good with no dust jacket/No Dustjacket. From the signed, limited, numbered first printing, this is number 266, signed by the author at the limitation page opposite the full title. The pages are bright saving some toning around the deckled edges and quite clean except for a very few scattered spots of foxing; no owners' marks; the quarter cloth binding leans gently to the right but remains tight; the paper boards and paper title plate at the spine show some chipping around the edges, with a pressure mark at the bottom right front corner, a small inward turn and surface scuff at the top left rear corner, and some surface creasing at the corners and right edge of the title plate; some fading is also evident along the head edges of the paper and along the right rear, and the title plate is age-toned; nonetheless, a remarkably clean and attractive book, well-preserved. 459pp.; an extra copy of the title plate is tipped in at the…

New York: Random House, 1957. First edition, first printing. Octavo. Original green cloth over boards with gilt titling and dust jacket (not price-clipped) with $6.95 price and 10/57 on front inside flap and publisher's full address to rear inside flap. Superb first printing in a bright dust jacket, minor edgewear to dust jacket at spine and folds, with slight chipping to head of spine, and small abrasions to front and spine of dust jacket, else fine in a very good dust jacket.. Exceptional first edition of Ayn Rand's (1905-1982) magnum opus and libertarian classic. Reportedly born from a conversation between Rand and fellow libertarian novelist, Isabel Paterson, Atlas Shrugged explores the morality of self-interest by depicting the consequences of a general strike by creative professionals who henceforth refuse to share with the world their art, innovations, and ideas. Set in a dystopic future America, Atlas Shrugged combines science fiction, mystery, philosophy, and romance to investigate several…

Description:
1908 1st ed Winston Churchill Big Game Hunting My African Journey Illustrated "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."
― Winston S. Churchill
Acknowledging all Churchill's other accolades, we tend to overlook his claims as a writer of travel. A fine example is at hand in 'My African Journey', the story of his 1908 excursion in Kenya and Uganda.
'My African Journey' is notable for being the only book of his to have photographs possibly taken by the author. Churchill profited from his trip by serializing articles in The Strand Magazine and publishing a book. Hodder and Stoughton published 'My African Journey' in 1908, which added significantly more content than was in the serialized articles.

Description:
SIGNED BY RINGO STARR WITH HIS FULL NAME and professionally authenticated by PSA/DNA. Comes with their full Letter of Authenticity. NOT personalized to anyone. This is a 128-page booklet-style softcover in very good condition, published by Wild & Wooley (Australia) in 1982 and thus a true 1st edition. Please carefully examine my photos: the cover remains strikingly appealing although close examination reveals several creases notably along the right side. The interior is clean and bright and still looks pretty much unblemished. Overall, in my opinion, remarkable condition for a 41 year old softcover. Ringo signed on page 8 just above a photo of the band; please note how extremely difficult it is to find a Ringo autograph WITH HIS FULL NAME (ie. "Starr" is fully spelled out). Even scarcer to find his autograph guaranteed authentic by the most respected independent authenticator in the world. Expedited and international shipping are welcome.

Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Description:
New York: Random House, 1959. Book. Illus. by Sam March (dust jacket design). Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Small octavo. Humes's second novel, following 'The Underground City,' both of which led to his being considered by Esquire magazine as having the same promise as two obscure guys named Updike and Styron (whoever they are). Anyway, he met a guy named Leary who introduced him to a little substance known as LSD, and after seriously indulging his fondness for the hallucinogen he became a trifle paranoid and a bit delusional, which pretty much ended his writing career. Humes was co-founder (with Peter Matthiessen and George Plimpton) of The Paris Review. He died of prostate cancer in 1992. Black cloth w/gilt lettering, 184 pages. Mildly cocked, light general wear, in price-clipped dust jacket w/light rubbing, light edgewear, creases to fore-edges of both flaps..
