About This Item
This is an antique copy of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" with "Through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll. 1898; Lothrop Publishing Company; Boston. This edition features three color chromolithograph plates (one plate is missing), and the original John Tenniel illustrations in black & white.
Condition:
There are cracks at both the front and back hinges with the webbing exposed resulting in both covers being shaky. Light soiling to the covers. Cloth tears at the top/bottom edges of the spine and at the cover corners. There is a 1.5" cloth tear at the bottom-left corner of the spine. There is an inscription written in pen dated 1901 on the front end paper. One color plate is missing - the color plate after page 112 is not present. The pages are in nice condition - mostly clean with only an occasional small, light smudge and stain; pages 25, 29 & 119 each have a small tear at the outer edge. Overall the book is in Fair condition due to the hinge cracks and cloth tears.
