London: George Routledge and Sons, [1884]. Small 32mo.(75mm x 105mm). Original cream coloured imitation morocco with lettering and triple-line border stamped in gold gilt on the front board and a matching triple-line border blindstamped on the back. Yellow endpapers. All edges gilt. Color pictorial title-page, pictorial color frontispiece, twelve half-page color illustrations (one for each month), four full-page color illustrations for each of the seasons and two additional half-page color illustrations. A small amount of wear to the spine with a bit to rubbing to the head and tail. Some toning along the edges of the endpapers. Internally clean and an overall very good copy. Schuster & Engen, 5., 3c. A sweet little illustrated book which celebrates the 12 months and seasons of 1885. Along with Randolph Caldecott and Walter Crane, Kate Greenaway was one of the most influential illustrators of her age. Greenaway's illustrations even gave rise to a fashion in young children's clothing in the 1880s and 1890s. 1884
