Saltspring Island, BC, Canada: Shamrock Publications, 2000 FINE Trade Paperback, 5th Printing (2004) SIGNED by the author on the title page. No creases, no markings other than author's signature, no wear. 6" x9", 297 pages, illustrated. Includes 3 photocopy handouts prepared by the author - an official copy of the layout of Stalag 88, Prayer to St. Peter found in a WWII hospital, and a guest editorial article on Remembrance Day. - The book tells the true experiences of a young man's journey in the 1940's. The author was aboard an aircraft that crashed into flames and left him as the only survivor of a 7-man crew. Equally exceptional is his account of a terrible ordeal in the winter of 1945. With thousands of comrades he struggled on foot over 400 miles across a frozen landscape. Had an unknown woman not helped, the authors chances of survival would have declined to nil.. Soft Cover.
