Adam and Charles Black, 1945. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. 1945. Reprinted. 104 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over brown cloth. Contains black and white photographic plates. Pages and plates are lightly tanned and foxed throughout. Minor pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning. Brown stained mark to spine. Clipped jacket has heavy edge wear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing. Moderate tanning to spine and edges. Scuffing and light marking overall.

London: A. and C. Black, 1945 First edition, second printing. In light tan cloth boards, dark green lettering, good, clean, tight, straight copy. Spine tight. Endpapers slightly tanned. Cut edges lightly tanned and foxed. Text block slightly tanned, with some foxing on early and late pates. With 47 photographs and a sketch map by the author. Dust jacket has black and white illustration on front, edges chipped and slightly torn (repaired), inside of jacket and back cover slightly tanned and foxed, in plastic cover.
