Color and black-and-white illustrations. Mrs. Poppet goes to meet her son, a sailor, and entrusts her shop to Ameliaranne while she's gone. Everything goes well until a thief, disguised as Mrs. Poppet's son, tries to rob the store. Ameliaranne's cleverness is rewarded as she keeps the thief from finding the money.

Light discolouration to illustrated endpapers otherwise the contents is bright and unmarked, charmng colour illustrations, covers worn and discoloured but front cover illustration still bright, hinges starting to pull but bnding still firm, no loose pages.
