An examination of aboriginal peoples of the Western Hemisphere, from the Arctic to Patagonia. With lots of drawings, maps and a few photos. One of the maps, showing locations of various tribes in North America, is tipped in at rear of volume and folds out. --- In red cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped spine titling. Map of North America showing tribe locations laid in. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- With underlinings in red and black throughout, page 264 with pasted-on listing of typewritten tribe locations, prior owner's signature to front free endpaper and with a partial split in mid-book. Covers with some soiling. Overall, a sound copy which makes it a useful reference, but with some damages.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); xvii, 466 pages .
