Photo-illustrated paper covered boards printed red and black. Copyright page states Sixth Printing, code L-H (November 1933): board edges rubbed through, leaves minimally age toned, ffep pencil inscription effaced. In the price-clipped dust jacket repeating the cover design: edges rubbed and chipped, spine darkened. A popular culture history in pictures, many from services such as Brown Brothers and Culver. Running commentary by Harpers Magazine associated editor Allen, author of Only Yesterday on post-WWI pop culture.

Scarce in dust jacket, which is now preserved in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
