About This Item

New York, NY: Simon and Schuster, 1955. Book. Very Good. Quarter Cloth. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. New York, NY, Simon & Schuster, 1955. First edition. 8vo. Yellow quarter cloth over dark blue boards with a red title field embossed with gilt lettering on spine and author's signature embossed on front board, illustrated with black and white photographs, 310 pp. American in the Rough is a full-blooded job that must have been hard to put together; a book as hard to build a s bridge. But now the story is here and Bill Coffman's adventurous life riding the rails, sailing around the Horn, rambling around the Barbary Coast, surviving the San Francisco Earth Quake and Fire and so much more.. is now available for the public to enjoy. Dust jacket is somewhat soiled and missing a few chips, flat tears on outer edges, but colors are still bright, binding has minor shelf-wear, tanning on endpapers, otherwise text block is tight, clean, bright and sharp. Very good in a good dust jacket, protected by a mylar cover..
