Bound in the publisher's red cloth, with the title on the spine and flap tab in gilt. Vol. III tab present but detached. Text block edges marbled. The red covers are worn, with rubbing, chipping to edges. Internally, the contents, text, ads, and maps are very good. Overall, a Good set (with Vol. III Fair). Contains plans and maps of European cities. Copious adverts for Casinos, Hotels, Ocean Lines, Railway Timetables, Fashion houses, Cities and Ports. and much more. 10 loose maps present for Spain, Denmark, Norway & Sweden (combined), Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Scotland, France, Great Britain, Paris and Ireland. Previous owner was Dr Edward Douty (1861 - 1911) who after contracting TB travelled around Europe and eventually settled in Davos where he practised medicine. . First Edition. Hardback.
