White staining to lower third of front board, wrapping around to spine. Small dimple or nick to spine. Seven speeches delivered (in order of printing) in the States of Maine, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Arizona, Colorado, Illilnois and New York. Speeches include: "Duty First"; "Words and Deeds"; "The Square Deal in Industry"; a "The Mexican Iniquity"; "Preparedness: Military, Industrial and Spiritual"; "True Americanism and National Defense"; "The Soul of a Nation". Pages lightly age-toned. 145 pp. Front cover blemished, but book affordable!
NOTE: The name "Edith Kermit Roosevelt" appears on title page below the title but is not believed to be the first lady's actual signature. Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt was the second wife and First Lady of her childhood companion and the 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909).
