Abridged edition. Published by D. Appleton & Co., New York, 1857. Illustrated throughout. The books measures 5" x 8", 415 pages with Appendix, plus an additional 8 pages of publisher's advertisements. Bound in publisher's original cloth with embossed decorations. The book is in good plus antiquarian condition. Sunning and rubbing to the boards and spine with a small area of discoloration. Previous owner's signature and drawings on the front leaves. Two small stains to the preliminary pages to the title page. Foxing and toning to the textblock with some scattered staining. The binding is starting at page 214.
