No date. Ca. 1840.. Engraved map with handcolor, 20 3/4 x 13 3/4 inches on sheet 22 1/2 x 15 3/4 inches. Short tear in lower margin, scattered light foxing, very light small dampstain in upper and lower margin, crease in upper and lower right corner margins, couple of soft creases in image from handling, overall good condition. Very interesting map of North America with Texas a Republic and Mexico reaching north to the Red and Arkansas rivers and the Oregon Territory. The northern boundary of the Oregon Territory with Canada is indeterminate. Present day Alaska is marked Russian America. A network of wagon trail routes is marked in the east, through Texas and into Mexico. In Texas the towns of Matagorda, Mina, S. Antonio de Bejar, S. Felippe de Austin and Nacodoches are marked. .
