About This Item
Boston: David R. Godine, 1975. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Color frontispiece, with 272 illustrations. First American edition. In his dual role as painter and anatomist, George Stubbs (1724-1806) is unique in English art, and his full stature can be appreciated properly only when his achievement in the field of anatomy is understood. With the ink stamp of the Cal Arts Character Animation Department to the half-title and the front flyleaf. A bit of mild soiling along the edges, with some very light wear to the dust jacket; otherwise very good.
