Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for F/O name on the front pastedown dated 1946. Book Condition: Very Good; light bumps to head, tail, and tips; slight shelfwear to board bottoms. DJ: Good; NOT Price Clipped ($1.00); chipping and missing small pieces along top and bottom edges; closed tears along flap folds and a spine head. Gray cloth boards with green spine; As and swans as decorations on the spine and boards. Pictorial color endpapers. Clean internals, Tinted textblock top. Internal hinges are sound and not split 343 pp 8vo. This is a collection of 29 of Andersen's best fairy tales highlighted by color and B&W illustrations by Arthur Szyk. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket

The book is awesome, but this posting is confusing. Are the illustrations the Syck originals, or have they been modified by E. Zeerger? It is a First Edition, But not THE first PUBLISHED edition, as that was in the 1950s. I have a copy of this, but the registration of the colors in the color plates was way off, making the illustrations difficult to view and appreciate, to put it mildly!!
