About This Item
The book itself is in excellent condition, no tears, folds, or marginalia, small inscription on the upper left hand corner of the half title page. Beautiful full color illustrations spanning the pastedown and free endpapers in both the front and back of the book, as well as full color plates inserted throughout, with black and white cuts as well. The upper left hand corner of the back pastedown is slightly torn. This book also comes with a slipcase that it is good condition, in spite of some wearing, particulary in the upper right hand corner. See pictures.
Synopsis
Originally published in 1991, this collection of classic fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, illustrated by internationally acclaimed artist Lisbeth Zwerger, has been expanded -- three stories added -- and completely redesigned.
Reviews
The book is awesome, but this posting is confusing. Are the illustrations the Syck originals, or have they been modified by E. Zeerger? It is a First Edition, But not THE first PUBLISHED edition, as that was in the 1950s. I have a copy of this, but the registration of the colors in the color plates was way off, making the illustrations difficult to view and appreciate, to put it mildly!!
