A charming collection on anecdotes on dogs, divided into sections on different breeds of dogs, including Newfoundlands, Spaniels, Poodles, Terriers, and more.Illustrated throughout with in-text wood engravings.Written by Edward Jesse, who also wrote 'Lectures on Natural History' and 'An Angler's Rambles'.No publisher's adverts present. In a half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing to the boards and spine. A small amount of bumping to the extremities. Lacking the spine label. Small amount of loss of leather to the rear board. Light tidemark to the tail of the front board. Hinges are starting but firm. Endpapers are detached but present. Internally, firmly bound, though the title page and page 491 are detached with the endpapers. Pages are bright and clean. Good
