Liverpool: Printed by G.F. Harris for Samuel Bagster, Strand, London, 1808. First edition. With twelve etchings by Howitt, signed in the plate, hand colored (possibly later). 28 pp. 1 vols. Oblong 8vo (6 x 8 in.). Original printed boards, uncut, the upper cover reproducing the title page. Rebacked, drab spine; some wear to boards. Bookplate of Bibliotheca Piscatoria Lynniana, with small library stamp on front pastedown and in margins of p. i of "Advertisement" only; some marginal soiling, but overall a pleasing, very good copy. Preserved in a handsome red morocco-backed slipcase, cloth wrapper. First edition. With twelve etchings by Howitt, signed in the plate, hand colored (possibly later). 28 pp. 1 vols. Oblong 8vo (6 x 8 in.). Westwood & Satchell's comment, "The etchings good, the text trivial" is not unjustified--the text is more general than useful--but it would be hard for any writing to upstage Howitt's charming images. This book, rebound, brought a high $15 at the Heckscher sale in 1909. Westwood & Satchell, p.10; Heckscher 1055
