Collection of 500 recipes compiled by the former food editor of Ladies' Home Journal, in 308 pages. Orig. published in 1941 & completely revised in 1949; this is the Eighth Printing from Apr. 1957. Hardcover book with gray cloth-covered boards & black lettering/design to front & spine is in Good+ condition: very clean, but with small dampstain to bottom edge of front board--does NOT impact interior in any way. Binding straight & strong, pages moderately tanned, commensurate with age. Rubbing to extremities, heavier along bottom edge from shelfwear. NO writing/underlining/highlighting; NOT ex-lib. The DJ (with orig. $2.75 price intact) is downgraded to only Fair due to that same dampstain & some fairly heavy chipping along top edge & both ends of spine. Protected in mylar by former owner, which has a crease & is becoming a bit opaque. - Minor wear resulting from a book being place on, and taken from a bookshelf, especially along the bottom edge.

- Abrasion or wear to the surface. Usually used in reference to a book's boards or dust-jacket.
- Good+
- A term used to denote a condition a slight grade better than Good.
- Chipping
- A defect in which small pieces are missing from the edges; fraying or small pieces of paper missing the edge of a paperback, or...
- Fair
- is a worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title, etc....
